Bisexuality in Australia
Bi+ Australia has been developed in direct response to the high rates of poor mental health in bi+ people
The Bisexuality in Australia project, commencing in 2020, will explore the extensive and previously unanalysed data from the Who I Am survey (the largest study of bisexual Australians to date) to shed light on what it is to be a bi+ person in Australia. The project will seek to uncover the positive aspects of being a bi+ Australian alongside examining the challenges bisexual people currently face in our country. In addition, the project will investigate why bisexual Australians think they have been found collectively to experience poorer mental health than other sexual orientation groups. Bisexuality in Australia aims to give bisexual people a voice, to go beyond the analytical number crunching of survey research and delve deeper into the experiences of bi+ Australians by examining life through their eyes in order to better understand their experience as bisexual people in our society.
